Wedding bands are among the most personal pieces of jewellery I create. Worn every day, they become lasting symbols of a shared journey, and for this reason, I always enjoy helping couples bring their unique ideas to life.
For this bespoke commission, the couple wanted something completely unique that reflected their love of dark fantasy art and biomechanical design. One ring features a stylised female figure and is set with a faceted black Spinel, while the other incorporates a male figure and is set with a faceted Rose Quartz. Together, the designs create a harmonious pair, each representing one half of the relationship while maintaining its own individual character.
Once the concept and sketches were established, I hand-carved the prototypes in wax before casting the rings in sterling silver using the ancient lost-wax casting process. Every detail was sculpted by hand, allowing the flowing biomechanical forms and organic textures to emerge naturally throughout the design.
To make the rings even more personal, both bands were deeply engraved inside with the couple’s chosen motto:n“When you know, you know.” A simple yet meaningful phrase that perfectly captures their story and transforms the rings into something truly unique and one of a kind.
The biomechanical style has fascinated me for many years. Blending organic forms with skeletal and mechanical elements, it creates a visual language that feels both futuristic and ancient at the same time.
As a long-time admirer of the work of H.R. Giger and dark fantasy art, I was particularly excited to help design and create these wedding bands. The flowing structures, sculptural details and interconnected forms allowed me to explore a style that has influenced my work for many years while creating something deeply personal for the couple who wear them.
One of the things I love most about bespoke commissions is the opportunity to bring unusual ideas to life. Whether inspired by art, mythology, symbolism, personal memories or shared passions, bespoke jewellery allows those inspirations to be transformed into pieces that carry meaning far beyond their material value.
Hashem and Minna were married last week. I would like to wish them both a lifetime of happiness and many wonderful years ahead together. 🖤
If you are looking for a unique engagement ring, wedding bands unlike anything found on the high street, or a meaningful piece inspired by your own story, I would be delighted to help.
